We are seeking a System Engineer II to join our System Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) team. The successful candidate will provide essential support in the development and documentation of requirements and interfaces, as well as design analysis, modeling and simulation, system integration, and trade studies. You will play a critical role in ensuring system compliance through the documentation and execution of system verification processes.  This position is Full-Time, located On-Site in Indianapolis, Indiana in support of System Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Team.

What You Will Do

• Assist in the development and documentation of requirements and interfaces, and perform design analysis, modeling and simulation, system integration, and trade studies
• Provide support for system verification activities to demonstrate compliance with established requirements
• Integrate software and hardware subsystems to ensure seamless operation
• Apply a structured, data-driven approach to identify and solve problems effectively
• Contribute to the achievement of project and program milestones under the general guidance of supervisors and team leaders
• Adhere to established systems engineering processes and procedures to maintain consistency and quality in project deliverables

Qualifications You Must Have  

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience
• System Engineering experience to include development, derivation, requirements and/or modeling and simulation, verification and validation, and data analysis
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues, to include conducting root cause analysis, and performing trade studies
• Integration of software and hardware subsystems
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with integration of software and hardware subsystems
• Knowledge of security engineering concepts, practices, and the software development life cycle
• Aviation and Systems architecture
• Distill data into meaningful information
• SYSML and CAMEO
• System lifecycle and product maturity (design reviews, internal gate reviews)

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
