Job Description
The Structures Mechanic assembles major aircraft structures using precision tooling to ensure accurate fit and alignment of large structural components. This role completes structural assemblies in accordance with engineering and design specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and regulatory compliance. The position installs aircraft systems structural supports, windows, fairings, external components, and rigged flight control surfaces and systems, including passenger and baggage doors and landing gear doors.

Responsibilities
- Assemble major aircraft structural components using precision assembly tooling to achieve correct fit and alignment.
- Complete structural assemblies in strict accordance with engineering drawings, design specifications, and quality standards.
- Install aircraft systems structural supports, including brackets and mounts for key systems.
- Install windows, fairings, and external structural components on the aircraft.
- Install and rig flight control surfaces and associated systems to ensure proper operation.
- Install and rig passenger and baggage doors, ensuring correct fit, function, and sealing.
- Install and rig landing gear doors and related structural components.
- Perform sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and repair tasks, including riveting and structural rework as directed.
- Read and interpret blueprints and written work instructions to perform accurate and compliant assembly operations.
- Use a wide range of aircraft assembly tools, including hand tools and specialized assembly tooling, in a safe and effective manner.
- Perform structural repairs and rework on aircraft structures when required.
- Mix and apply aircraft sealant to structural areas in both wet and dry locations.
- Support basic system installation tasks for hydraulic, fuel, environmental control, pressurization, and electrical systems as needed.
- Work across all areas of the aircraft structure, adapting to different sections and configurations.
- Identify potential issues in the assembly process, anticipate future outcomes, and take action to avoid mistakes and scrap.
- Work with composite materials and apply a good understanding of composite processes during structural assembly.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of aircraft assembly experience.
- Full proficiency in all requirements of a sheet metal mechanic, including sheet metal fabrication and repair.
- Thorough ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Strong ability to follow and comply with detailed written work instructions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft assembly processes and engineering specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of all types of aircraft assembly tools, including hand tools and precision assembly tooling.
- Experience in riveting, including solid and blind rivet installation and removal.
- Experience with sheet metal repair and structural rework on aircraft.
- Ability to work in all areas of the aircraft structure, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces.
- Ability to perform structure repairs and rework when directed.
- Ability to mix and apply aircraft sealer to structures in both wet and dry areas.
- Basic knowledge of system installation for hydraulic, fuel, environmental control (ECS), pressurization, and electrical systems.
- Ability to predict potential issues during the assembly process and take steps to prevent errors and scrap.
- Good understanding of working with composite materials in an aircraft environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- FAA Airframe certification is desired but not required with appropriate experience.
- Composite experience is highly desired and considered a strong asset.
- Experience in aviation maintenance, airframe work, and aircraft modification is beneficial.
- Experience in aviation environments involving structural assembly and repair.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented production environment.

Work Environment
This role operates in a hands-on aircraft manufacturing and assembly environment. You will work in production facilities dedicated to building and assembling advanced light business jets, using a variety of aircraft assembly tools, hand tools, precision assembly tooling, and equipment for sheet metal and composite structures. The work involves standing, bending, and working around large airframes and structures throughout the shift. The schedule is a weekday shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will collaborate closely with other technicians, mechanics, and engineers in a structured, process-driven setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to engineering specifications.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
